Chinese Medical Acupuncture & Cupping in Darlington

TREATMENTS

Traditional Chinese Medical Acupuncture treatments may include a combination of these therapeutic practices according to individual treatment plans

Traditional Chinese Medical Acupuncture

This ancient practice uses fine acupuncture needles to stimulate specific points that run along energetic channels throughout the body and connect to vital organs.

Acting to stimulate the nervous system they promote rebalancing of disharmonies and prompt the body's natural ability to heal.

Cosmetic Acupuncture by Facial Enhance

As a Facial Enhance trained practitioner, I offer this treatment specifically focusing on points & muscles of the face to improve the elasticity & overall appearance of the skin.

As a holistic treatment, constitutional points on the body are also integrated which assist in balancing internal disharmonies & further promote skin rejuvenation from the inside out.

Chinese Cupping

Warmed glass cups are placed along the back. Their suction creates a negative pressure which lifts the skin & decompresses the fascia in the layer underneath.

The space created in the tissues triggers relaxation by releasing adhesions, increasing blood circulation, bringing oxygen & nutrients to the area, & improving lymphatic drainage of stagnant toxins to stimulate the body's natural healing processes.

Cupping for Sports Injury & Muscular Tension

Plastic cups (using a suction gun) &, or silicone cups (using a squeezing technique) can also be applied to upper and lower limbs.

These may be placed stationary for a few minutes and, or used with a gliding motion to massage, lift, & release tight constricted tissues.

Chinese Moxibustion

Medicinal therapy involving burning dried Mugwort herb on acupuncture points of the body or alongside acupuncture needles. Warms & invigorates the flow of Qi to enhance healing properties.

Massage & Channel Palpation

Palpation of the acupuncture channels may be used to assess the properties of the tissue which reflect the state of health within the channel & relates to their corresponding vita organs.

Where appropriate massage may be incorporated into your treatment to aid circulation, relieve muscular tension & promote healing.

Gua Sha

Another traditional Chinese healing method using a smooth edged tool to stroke the skin whilst gradually applying pressure. Aids to locally improve blood circulation, release toxins in stagnant lymph & thus promote healing.

Pulse Diagnosis

A diagnostic technique used in Chinese Medicine. Various qualities of the pulse are felt by applying firm fingertip pressure to the skin at the wrists. This aids the understanding of energetic disharmonies present & informs appropriate treatment.

Tongue Diagnosis

Being the most external, internal muscle of the body, visual examination of the tongue allows an insight into both the overall state of health & into specific areas of the body that are mirrored on the tongue.
